Patrick Collison (aka founder of Stripe) had a great interview with Noah Smith. Talked about the future of technology and what the world needs. Some great big ideas and a few that I hadn’t heard of or thought of!
When asked what technology the world needs, here were some of his ideas, with my notes and thoughts under:
“improvements in medical technology are probably still #1”
Medical technology is incredible and still stuck in the past. Doctors and their network still use fax machines sometimes. Machines are hard to use, hard to read.
I want a med-tablet where you can enter or test symptoms and get a diagnosis.
“Climate change mitigation technology (cleaner energy generation and CO2 sequestration and so on)”
Stripe in investing a lot into this area.
