Lifeline — iOS Game Review 5/5

Go buy Lifeline. A new take on the choose your own adventure idea that makes you care about your little astronaut Taylor

Lifeline on the App Store

The official description of Lifeline is: A playable, branching story of survival against all odds. Using your iPhone, iPad, or Apple Watch, you will help Taylor make life or death decisions, and face the consequences together.

If I had to write the description I would say: A super engaging choose your own adventure story that made me really care about the character I was leading. Buy it and play it now.

I was super drawn into this story. I mean at one point Taylor asked how if a level of radiation was safe to sleep next to. I actually researched it! And it was not super easy to find. Never mind that I got it wrong and made a bad choice. I really cared for a bit what happened to this little astronaut named Taylor.

Once you finished one branch of the story, you can reset the story back to any of your choices and play from there. You can also turn on ‘Fast Mode’ so you don’t have to wait the minutes or hours that it sometimes took Taylor to get somewhere or do something. I went back and changed a few decisions, but didn’t really explore every outcome. I hope someone writes a nice big wiki page if they do.

Overall Lifeline is a wonderful little game. It is fun, it is quick, and it makes you care. Try it out, you won’t be disappointed.
