How can you create a system so you can’t fail to achieve your goal? Start with setting good goals

Good goals vs poor goals

Yesterday I wrote about the idea that we can flip our mindset from

‘This goal is impossible’

To

‘It is Impossible to fail at achieving this goal’

The flip to ‘impossible to fail’ has three parts:

  1. Set a good goal
  2. Create the can’t fail system
  3. Trust the process aka create your autopilot

It all starts with setting a good goal, so let’s focus on that first.

Good goals, vs poor goals

Hundreds (thousands?) of books have been written goals and how to set them, so this is going to be a higher level overview.

Poor goals are pie in the sky, no time frame, outside our control, and vague.

Good goals:

  1. Are informed
  2. Have set, viable time horizons
  3. Are in our control
  4. Have clear completion criteria

Good goals are informed
